So, my friend Freddy Bradburn is working on releasing his new studio album called "Cartoonland." I'm getting ready to give it a listen. Freddy is a very talented singer-songwriter who has written such hard-hitting/tongue-in-cheek songs as "Tooth Fairy Got Shot" and looks to deliver the same emotional punch with this collection of songs.

The album was recorded in the mountain-top studio of Steven Blanton (Blantone Music, Marion, NC) and features some fine guest appearances from several local favorite performers. My brother in law, Todd Buckner, also designed the cover art and, let me tell you, it looks great!

This just goes to show that great projects don't just come from Nashville or L.A. anymore. Long live the small studios and local talent!
